This Is Ours

Very Interesting.
This was just a little slow at the beginning but stick with it. There is a chemistry among the cast, very good writing and a nice score.

No expectations, but still presently surprised
I'm not a big "indy" film buff, but found out about this movie through a friend who is friends with the writers/producers/directors. I truly wasn't sure what to expect, but found myself completely engaged throughout the movie and was pleasantly surprised by the plot's twists and turns. I thought the actors did a good job of creating real characters and the script helped them do that (yes, I'm one of those people who says "that would never happen" all through movies...don't go see a comic book movie with me). The scenery is incredible and made me miss my home state of Washington. We watch movies just about every night, and I would say that this is right up there with movies we watch that have much higher budgets and big-name actors (better than many of them, in fact).

Kris and Lindy--my hat's off to you. I can't wait to see your next project.

See this movie...
At the 100 of Some(Movie)Thing Podcast we've taken a slight detour from our regular reviews of the AFI Top 100 Movies of All Time to review an independent film we think you should see.

Kris and Lindy Boustedt's "This Is Ours," is a film about the results of choices made through life. The marriage, the job, the second house, the kid... what happens when all those things go away? What happens when a new opportunity to connect is presented in the midst of the turmoil?

The dialog crackles with life, pulling at my heartstrings as I recognized bits and pieces of arguments I have had over the years with my own wife.
